Shall I have pasta? Or how about a steak? But what shall I make today?
As a cook it is typical of me to spend time contemplating what to cook next. Most of time I'm driven by my appetite and what ingredients I can access. Then it can be just my habits and also convenience. But I find myself creating and combining different elements to create a dish which is ultimately satisfying to cook and to eat.
There's so many things I could consider which helps me finalise my dish. But I notice how my mood always affect what I cook and how a dish can always taste.
But one thing I'm grateful for is that I have the ability and knowledge to cook which is a skill that I would want everyone to have the ability and confidence to do at least once in their life. Not necessarily Michelin star quality but at least to having produced a dish from scratch which you made on your own, even with a little help.
But on today's menu it's consisting of leftovers; pumpkin and cauliflower soup and Spaghetti Bolognese. Even cooks need a day off from cooking!
Inside the mind of a cook can be a very adventurous and mouth watering place...
