Going Pro with my own Logo

Updated: Dec 8, 2020

I have always thought about names for my business ideas and one crucial part has always been about designing my own business logo. Well today I embarked on that very journey.

So what's in a logo? Why should I bother anyway? Well it's a defining characteristic of any entity. Think about all the brands you know of and actually besides their products and services, what do you remember? The logo is key, it stands out from the rest and it's part of creating an identity. So for me it was important to create a logo.

How I did it was simple; by using one of the many logo creator websites to generate some ideas and refine a logo which inspires me for what I'm taking on.

So here is the first logo (version 1.0 at least), which you would have seen on the front page:

I never realised how much time I could of spend on choosing a type of font, let alone the colour, design, background and so forth. But I loved every moment of creating this logo.

It brings me joy just seeing it. It now makes it more real for me. Thanks to my fiancé as he provided the second opinion. The colours in the logo is similar to our kitchen colour scheme. The fish icon on a plate with a knife and fork was a nice added touch. But for me it was a reminded of my love for fishes (my fiancé is a pieces) and my old family fish & chips shop. But this is all towards creating my own brand, even for this blog. I plan to further grow and spread myself as a Food Writer and Cook. So watch this space.
